Description

Why BloomGuard is the only plant spray you need

Most plant problems fall into three overlapping categories — insects, fungal diseases, and mites — and most gardeners end up buying a different product for each one. BloomGuard 3-in-1 Plant Spray eliminates that complexity. Its advanced formula simultaneously targets soft-bodied insects like aphids, whitefly, and mealybugs; fungal diseases including powdery mildew, black spot, and leaf blight; and spider mites, which sit somewhere between insect and arachnid and are notoriously difficult to eliminate with standard insecticides alone. The active ingredient is a highly refined horticultural oil derived from cold-pressed neem seed extract, enhanced with potassium bicarbonate for fungal control and rosemary oil for mite suppression. Together, these ingredients create a broad-spectrum, fast-acting spray that tackles the most common plant health threats in a single application.

How BloomGuard works on pests, fungi, and mites

BloomGuard’s neem oil base works primarily by coating the bodies of soft-bodied insects and disrupting their ability to breathe, feed, and reproduce. Crucially, it also contains azadirachtin — a natural compound that acts as an insect growth regulator, preventing juvenile insects from maturing and reproducing even if they survive initial contact. This breaks the pest lifecycle rather than just reducing current numbers. The potassium bicarbonate component raises the surface pH of leaves on contact, creating an inhospitable environment for fungal spores and disrupting the cell walls of established fungal colonies. Rosemary oil specifically disrupts the neurological function of mites, making it highly effective against spider mite infestations that have developed resistance to synthetic miticides. Because the formula is derived entirely from botanical sources, it breaks down naturally in sunlight and leaves no persistent chemical residue.

How to apply BloomGuard correctly

BloomGuard comes ready to use in a 32oz trigger spray bottle — no mixing required. Shake the bottle well before each use. Spray thoroughly on all surfaces of the plant, paying particular attention to the undersides of leaves where pests, mites, and fungal spores typically concentrate. Apply in the early morning or evening when temperatures are below 90°F (32°C) — applying in hot midday sun can cause leaf burn. For active infestations, apply every five to seven days for three consecutive treatments to break the pest lifecycle. For preventive use, a monthly application during the growing season is sufficient to keep common problems from establishing. Do not apply to drought-stressed plants — water them first and allow them to recover before treating.

Safety, compatibility, and what BloomGuard won’t harm

BloomGuard is OMRI Listed for use in organic gardening, meaning it meets the standards set by the Organic Materials Review Institute for use on organic crops. When used as directed and applied in the morning or evening, it poses no significant risk to bees and other beneficial pollinators — pollinators are generally not present during low-light application windows, and the dried residue has minimal toxicity. It is safe for use on vegetables, herbs, fruits, and ornamental flowers. BloomGuard is not recommended for use on ferns, mosses, or newly rooted cuttings with delicate root systems. It is safe to use around children and pets once the spray has dried, which typically takes thirty to sixty minutes under normal conditions.
